Crazy bathrooms in SoHo and Peking Duck House

Last week, my cousins from Seattle were here for vacation. One cousin was telling us about this place in SoHo that has crazy bathrooms. Well, consequently, little 9-year old Jordan had to make a stop somewhere, so we made the stop at Bar 89. To get to the bathrooms, you just walk around a corner in the restaurant and see 5 doors/stalls. It's a unisex bath "area." The crazy thing is that these bathroom doors are clear! As soon as you lock the door, the glass goes foggy after about 5 seconds and you can't see in. But the people inside can slightly see out. I never thought I'd be posting about bathrooms, but we really were fascinated. Pictured is cute McKenna from inside before it went foggy.

Just as an update on our lives over here, we are still having a great time! We are officially half way through the internship. Last weekend, we went to a place called Peking Duck House in Chinatown. We decided to be brave and go for the main trademark dish, duck. When they brought out the dish, I about threw up - the entire duck was sitting on a platter, beak and neck and all. Luckily, they cut it to the side of the table and serve it in slices. It was surprisingly okay. They serve it with a BBQ sauce and you wrap the meat in "pancakes" or soft tortillas.

This weekend, we are heading to Battery Park City to watch the fireworks on the Hudson over the Statue of Liberty. It will be a fun way to celebrate our nation. (even though nothing beats 4th of July in IF) Next weekend my parents come! The highlights of the trip will include Wicked broadway, pizza at Grimaldi's in Brooklyn, a visit to Palmyra, and just having them here. More to come soon.
